Preface

Purpose of the Blog
The aim of this blog is to reveal the facts underlying the treatments of disease in modern methodology. Also to work out the scientific justification involve in the treatment with various pass and cons. To explore the various other natural potentials, if possible in other methods of treatment with scientific justification. Blog shall also go for critical analysis of various advertisements related to health concerns along with the potentialities of product and claims made by them. If possible a cheaper and better solutions shall also be presented.

Now, one can ask why to have doubt on exponentially flourishing pharma system? And answer is hidden in the question itself i.e. “exponentially flourishing”. As everyone is knowing exponential growth is ‘unnatural’ say for example, cancer. However, I have a question to ask. Have you not ever stuck on any of following thought?
·         why there are many ‘U’ turns in curing methods of modern medical science?”
o   “why to take filter water than take additional ‘good bacteria’?
o   Firstly, they have advertised take “clean white flour” now they are saying taking ‘flour with wheat bran’ is more healthy
o   Cleaning teeth with salt could damage your gums but now selling “Does your toothpaste contain salts?”
o   Various other such example may be consulted in NCBI’s article
o   Only in last decade some  146 such reversals have been reported from various sources.

In order to find to the answer, let’s consider one more question. Even a layman is also aware of the fact that occurrence of a disease is an outcome of a sum interaction of HOST-PATHOGEN-ENVIRONMENT triangle. This tell us that an appearance of disease will not outbreak until environment favors the pathogen not the host. In other words, occurrence of a disease is function of environment. Thus, cosmopolitan nature of any disease is simply impossible. But what’s going on? Contrary to this basic fundamentals, most diseases from developed countries spread globally, which seems factually incorrect. In this connection, it also noteworthy to mention that all such problems are prolong and usually persists throughout life.

In present concern, attention shall be concentrated around the well-established practices, like treatment of hypertension, diabetes Mellitus etc. For example, following facts [4, 5] can be reviewed:
  • Alteration in “High cholesterol” Definition from a total cholesterol ≥240 to ≥200 in 1998 increasing by 86% the numbers of Americans labeled has having high cholesterol, an additional 42.6 million adults.
  • Alteration in “Hypertension:” changed in 1997 from 160/100 to 140/90, instantly adding 35% more Americans, 13.5 million, to the rosters of hypertensive. A new definition for ‘prehypertension’ in 2003 increased to 58% the Americans believing they have hypertension.
  • “Diabetes:” Definition changed from a fasting glucose of ≥ 140 to ≥ 126 in 1997 by the American Diabetes Association and WHO Expert Committee on the Diagnosis and Classification of Diabetes Mellitus, increasing by 14% and 1.7 million the people diagnosed with diabetes. With the proposal of a new term, ‘prediabetes’ by the First International Congress on Prediabetes, and promoted by the International Diabetes Federation (sponsored by 12 pharmaceutical companies), 40% of the adult population was added to the rosters believing they have diabetes and are in need of treatment.
In fact, all such thoughts compelled me to explore the facts and their fabrications for treatment of mankind, especially for the Indian context. The focus of this blog shall be to develop a scientific explanation for the treatment which will end with some questions demanding answers or further research. Focus will more on prophylaxis side than to cure of disease. This work shall not be prejudiced or and inclination towards anyway nor will advocate any product until its technical details is not do the same. It shall also reveal the underlying mechanism along with other possible treatments provided in other methods of treatment like homeopathy, Ayurveda and unnani mode of treatment, of course in consultation of concerned doctors. Each post shall be provided with a technical review paper for more in-depth study.

However, good news is from WHO estimates that about three-quarters of the world's population currently uses herbs and other forms of traditional medicines for the treatment of various diseases [4].

Posts shall be dealt disease-wise; their cause, mode of treatment in modern and alternative mode along with positives and negatives points. All the content of post shall be under copyrighted to authors until not mentioned otherwise.  However, author (s) shall encourage the quoting of text or image providing the proper link and reference.
